Photos from the Past

Last Saturday, I went to StuffMart and took a handful of photos to scan. I then went back the next day and picked up the CD that they were created on. Obviously, we don't own a scanner.

Anyway, here some of them are. This shot below was when I was almost 2 and it was the front of a Christmas card my parents sent out that year. My brother, Jim, is behind me and we're on "Cinder" - HIS wonderhorse. I vividly remember this picture being taken by my father because they placed me on the FRONT of the horse. I NEVER got to ride on the front. It was my brother's horse, so I always took a back seat. Anyway, it's probably the reason I remember this photo so well. Can you say "bangs"???

Next is my high school senior picture. 1977. It's a tad cropped on the sides. Gosh, I look like I'm 15 and not almost 18, huh?

And this is Adrian's (daughter) senior picture. 2004. Beautiful, no?

And lastly is Levi's (son) senior picture. 2006. His proofs were given to me ON a cd by the photographer and I'm forever grateful. They all came out great. But I like this one the best because he's smiling.

I'm still busying paper piecing a quilt for RJR. I'll be working on it tomorrow all day and then Sunday, I've been invited to the quilt shop to sew all day long (after church) with about nine others. They are preparing for the Shop Hop that takes place in September/October. Phew!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Quilts and Cats

This wallhanging below was done for The Fabric Patch locally. I am almost positive (without going to look) that it's made with Moda fabric. It involved a panel and fat quarters. Very Easy. I totally love the colors.

Gizmo and Gadget below are pretty cozy looking, huh? It is so much fun to watch them lick each other's faces. Then they sleep. Flannel covered goose-down comforter. Envious. Pathetic.

Then the Fabric Patch had me do this quilt from the book entitled Cool Girls Quilt. It is a great book, considering my "girl" is almost 22 years old. These wallhangings and such are so much fun. I also did a sewing machine cover with the word "create" appliqued on. Very bright. I got to add BLING, too!

Otherwise, I've been busy piecing. RJR Fabrics has hired me to be a quilt tester and I'm having alot of fun. I've also made two great friends. One at RJR and the other is THE designer of the fabric and pattern. I'm excited and will show you those quilts when I am allowed to. Right now, they're "under wraps" to speak.

Stay tuned, if you can stay awake!

Happy Valentines Day to all...take care!

I've been really busy at work and then quilting at home. Below is a really cute crib sized quilt made from batiks from Diamond Textiles. The pattern is called Crazy Starz designed by Cindi Rang who owns the local quilt shop. I get to sew their shop samples. The little loops you see in the border are called noodles. It was alot of fun to sew and I just love the different batiks. It's fast becoming one of my favorite fabrics.

Finally, my heart bargello is up on the wall. Done. I love it. Not much else to say. Double click on the picture to enlarge it.

The other Diamond Textiles batik quilt is called Navajo Rose. This pattern was also designed by Cindi Rang. I loved these greens and blues. It's really a striking quilt. That light area is the sun shining through the window. This shot gives you an idea of the size. Twin size, to be exact.

And here is a close up of the block.

I've also done one other wall hanging for Cindi and am working on an applique quilt now. And, as a thank you, Cindi gave me two fat quarters of beautiful fabric, a bottle of fabric stiffener, a fabric stiffener applicator/scraper and two patterns for origami fabric. One pattern makes a check book cover and a credit card holder. The other pattern makes 4 different bookmarks. I'll take a shot of the bookmarks for another blog. I've made two already and given one away. They are really simple. More later on that.

It has snowed all day here today. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
